Marine Fabrication
Solent Engineering have a specialist marine fabrication unit
The team at Solent Engineering have vast experience in fabrication and finishing of custom stainless steel work for the marine and superyacht industry, and with the high level of interest and demand from prestige yacht manufacturers along the South Coast, we are ideally situated to serve this sector.
Solent entered 2012 with expansion and investment, and now within the new SMF division we house a full surface finishing shop with a series of machines that can take raw and hot rolled stainless steel plate to full high lustre mirror polished finish. We also now carry a tube manipulation shop where we have all the necessary equipment to manipulate tubes from 6mm diameter to 4 inch diameter. Solent have a bank of tube bending machines, from electro hydraulic rotary draw to full mandrel bending achieving down to 2d clr bends. The shop also utilises rolling machines in both horizontal and vertical planes and end forming equipment such as abrasive notchers and flarers.
With the machinery on the shop floor comes the technical infrastructure backing it and we now have installed Bend-Tech SW software. This allows us to work from simple 2D tube drawings to full 3D assembly interface, meaning you can email us your 3D tubework files and we simply open them with Bend-Tech software and export the information direct to the tube machines and operators. By adopting this approach, we can maintain 100% native data from your design into fabrication.
So whether you are a weekend sailor with a damaged Pullpit, a powerboat/sailing race team or a vessel manufacturing company, feel free to call or visit us to discuss how our specialist marine fabrication division can be of help or benefit.
