Solent Engineering are currently looking for an Aluminium/Stainless TIG Welder Fabricator
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Aluminium/Stainless TIG Welder Fabricator to join our innovative and dynamic team. This role primarily focuses on fabricating, welding, and assembling products for the commercial fishing industry, as well as assisting with broader projects within the Blaker Group divisions, based near Billingshurst, West Sussex.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking candidates with:
- Proven experience in TIG welding, particularly with stainless steel and aluminium.
- A strong mechanical knowledge and proficiency in welding techniques.
- The ability to read, understand, and work to technical drawings and specifications.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- The ability to meet deadlines and thrive as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience working with thin sheet metal aluminium is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with operating fabrication equipment.
- A proactive attitude to assist with various workshop tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble metal components using TIG welding techniques.
- Read and interpret technical drawings to determine appropriate welding processes.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and resolve fabrication challenges.
Working Hours & Location
- Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00 (40 hours per week).
- Work will take place at our Adversane facility (near Billingshurst, West Sussex).
What We Offer
- Salary range: from £33,000 per year.
- Overtime available, paid at enhanced rates of 1.5x and 2.0x.
